Home > News > STATE GERMAN STUDENT CONVENTION TO BE HELD AT DANA COLLEGE THIS WEEKEND  

Blair, NE - The State German Student Convention will be held Saturday, April 26, at Dana College in Blair, NE, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 260 high school and junior high school students will compete in 29 competitions and enjoy other non-competitive activities during the day. More than 40 teachers, professors and parents are volunteering their time as judges and seminar leaders. This convention has a history of more than 35 years here in Nebraska.

Students will compete with musical performances, skits, poetry recitation, spelling, extemporaneous speaking, poster art, cake baking, knowledge bowl and more. Seminars include food preparation, business presentations, films and games.

Students from fifteen schools including Andersen Middle, Bellevue East, Bellevue West, Blair, Burke, Creighton Prep, Columbus, Gretna, Lincoln East, Millard North Middle, Millard North, Millard South, Millard West, Platteview, Westside High will participate.
